Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Center for Excellence Project

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD)
Prevention Subcontractors*

Goals
The Three Evidence-based Programs
Subcontractors Implementing and Evaluating Each Program
Subcontractors' Plans and Reports

There are 15 FASD prevention subcontractors. Each FASD prevention subcontractor is integrating one of three evidence-based interventions (listed below) into their organizations. They will develop policies and procedures to support the intervention and FASD prevention. Subcontractors work with pregnant women or women in substance abuse treatment.

Goals
The goal of subcontractors working with pregnant women is for the women to stop drinking alcohol during their pregnancies.

The goal of subcontractors working with women of child-bearing age in alcohol treatment or women in substance abuse treatment with an alcohol problem is to prevent alcohol-exposed pregnancies. This will be achieved by preventing pregnancy among the women and helping them achieve and maintain abstinence from alcohol.
